Generally, the RBT will implement behavior intervention plans created by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support students with behavioral challenges in a school environment, working closely with teachers and staff to provide consistent interventions and promote positive behaviors in the classroom. Responsibilities for this role include: Actively carry out individualized behavior plans designed to address specific student needs, including strategies for managing disruptive behaviors, increasing appropriate social skills, and teaching new skills. Monitor student behavior by collecting data on target behaviors using various methods (e.g., observation checklists, data sheets) and analyze the data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments as needed. Provide direct support to students in the classroom setting, including prompting, redirecting behaviors, and reinforcing positive actions. Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff to share student progress, discuss concerns, and coordinate interventions across different settings. Assist students with transitions between activities, classes, or locations within the school.
