Youngstown offers a low cost of living, easy commutes, and convenient access to both Cleveland and Pittsburgh. You will find a mix of local restaurants, arts and cultural venues, and nearby outdoor recreation, including parks and trails that make it easy to enjoy off-shift time. This hospital-based cath lab runs at least four labs daily, and on some days five, encompassing dedicated cath labs, EP labs, a peripheral vascular lab, and a hybrid suite. The department handles an average of approximately 20–30 cases per day, providing strong exposure to a broad range of diagnostic and interventional procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a Cath Lab Technologist seeking a fast-paced environment that builds skills and strengthens the resume. Scheduling is structured as five 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. The department will also consider four 10-hour shifts for candidates who prefer that schedule. One “late shift” per week is required; for technologists on an 8-hour schedule, this typically means a 9 a.m. start with work continuing until scheduled cases are complete. STEMI call responsibilities are approximately one night per week and one weekend every sixth week or as scheduled. When on STEMI call, you will be part of a focused cath lab team responding to emergent cases. Within each procedure room, the team structure consists of one RT (scrub technologist) and two RNs (monitor and circulator). As a Cath Lab Tech, you will scrub all assigned procedures and will not monitor cases in this department. Responsibilities include scrubbing and assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures such as coronary angiography, PCI, IABP, Impella, pacemaker and ICD implants, and EP ablations including AFib, PVC, and SVT. You will be responsible for moving the C-arm and adjusting collimation per physician direction, ensuring optimal imaging quality and procedural efficiency. The lab is equipped with four Philips Azurion rooms and one Siemens Artis Z room, providing state-of-the-art imaging capabilities and a modern workflow. The facility uses Epic for the primary EMR, with Change Healthcare (McKesson) utilized for hemodynamics in cath and vascular procedures. You will work closely with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and vascular specialists in a collaborative environment focused on patient safety, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement. Cath Lab Technologists in this department are not required to perform any functions outside the cath lab. This allows you to maintain a focused practice and deepen your expertise in invasive cardiology and electrophysiology. The combination of high case volume, diverse procedures, and advanced technology makes this role ideal for technologists who want meaningful, hands-on experience in a supportive, team-based setting.
