Surg Tech’s provide curtail support to a surgeon such as preparing for surgery, passing instruments, providing needed supplies such as sponges, receiving and containing tissue, and much more.  Surg Tech’s generally work in a hospital and/or outpatient clinic setting. Education/Requirements:
  • High School education is required to obtain a job as a ST, but they can also obtain an optional certification to make them a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). 
  • To become a CST, they must complete an exam through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NBSTSA).
