Susan Salka is CEO, president and director of AMN Healthcare Services, Inc., (AMN). Under her leadership, AMN has become known as the innovator in healthcare workforce solutions and the largest and most diversified healthcare staffing company in the nation.
Susan is an active industry spokesperson in the healthcare and investment community, and has been one of the driving forces behind the company’s strategic and operational success since joining the company in 1990.
Before becoming CEO and president, Susan served in several other executive positions at AMN Healthcare, including CFO, COO and SVP of business development. Susan currently serves on the board of directors of McKesson, The Campanile Foundation at San Diego State University, and serves on the editorial advisory board of Directors & Boards magazine. She previously served on other public company boards, such as Beckman Coulter and Playtex Products.
Susan takes an active role helping others to achieve their personal and professional goals. She is keenly aware of the need to promote the value of women in leadership and in the importance of community service and support. Susan was recognized as San Diego’s Most Admired Public Company CEO in 2008 and, most recently, in 2016. Susan was presented with the Exemplary Award at San Diego Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Awards in 2011 and was honored as the 2012 Woman of the Year by San Diego Magazine. Susan was also recognized as one of San Diego’s Top Influentials in 2011 and 2014 by the San Diego Daily Transcript. In 2014, Susan was named Director of the Year for Corporate Citizenship by the Corporate Director's Forum. As an alumna of Chadron State University, Susan has been honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award. She was also awarded the Monty Award for accomplished alumni by San Diego State University, where she received her master’s degree in finance.
Mr. Scott joined us in December 2003. We appointed him Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, and Treasurer in January 2011.
Prior to that time, Mr. Scott served in a variety of financial and operational roles for us including most recently as Senior Vice President of Operations, Finance and Business Development, in which capacity he oversaw our corporate financial planning and analysis, capital funding and business development activities. He has also served as President of our pharmacy staffing division and as Director, Senior Director and Vice President of Finance, where his roles have included overseeing all accounting operations and SEC reporting. Mr. Scott started his career in San Francisco with KPMG and later became a partner in a mid-sized CPA firm. Mr. Scott also served as controller of a biotechnology company. He is a certified public accountant (inactive) in California, and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and a Masters of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
Julie Fletcher is the Chief Talent Officer for AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. and in that role provides leadership for attracting, developing and optimizing team member talent for corporate roles and across the AMN diverse family of workforce solutions and staffing companies.
Mrs. Fletcher joined AMN Healthcare in 2008 as the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and was promoted to the Chief Talent Officer role in 2014. AMN Healthcare is passionately committed to investing in its talent as a key differentiator and Mrs. Fletcher leads all aspects of the team member lifecycle. Prior to joining AMN, Mrs. Fletcher served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for H&R Block’s Option One Mortgage Company in Irvine, CA. In that role, she championed a new talent strategy for the 5,500-person brand of an 110,000 person organization. Prior to H&R Block, Mrs. Fletcher was a top HR executive for the Los Angeles Times, a division of The Tribune Company. Mrs. Fletcher has also served as a key player at the Walt Disney Co./Parks and Resorts Division, leading Human Resource Services and a host of leadership roles in the people and cast functions. She is actively involved in the human resource community beyond her role at AMN Healthcare. She is a member of the HR Council of the American Management Association and was named to the Board of Directors for Make a Wish San Diego. Mrs. Fletcher earned a Bachelor of Science degree in HR Management and Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA, and a Master of Science in HR Management Development from Chapman University in Orange, CA.
Jeanette Sanchez is Chief Information Officer for AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. Ms. Sanchez’s career has spanned Fortune 500 companies in the healthcare, consumer packaged goods, and manufacturing industries where she has conducted business in multiple US locations, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Ms. Sanchez has held leadership roles in strategic planning, governance, large scale technology modernization, and business transformation events and brings a rich understanding of IT related to global supply chain management, retail, product design and development, finance, corporate administration, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. Known for setting vision and strategy development, she gained executive approval for two IT strategic plans at Mattel and Bausch & Lomb capturing significant cost savings, business process optimization and technology standardization. Prior to AMN, Ms. Sanchez was Vice President, IT at CareFusion responsible for supporting technologies in the Medical Systems operating unit and corporate functions (HR, Finance, Legal, QRA and R&D). Prior to her role at CareFusion, she served as Vice President Global Business Solutions at Mattel responsible for supply chain and corporate technologies. Prior to Mattel, she was Vice President of Americas IT for Bausch & Lomb and also worked for Edwards Lifesciences, Baxter International and Allergan. Ms. Sanchez was recently awarded the 2013 California National Diversity Council Most Powerful and Influential Women of California. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Mental Health Systems and is a member of HIMSS and Society for Information Management.
Marcia Faller, PhD, RN, is the Chief Clinical Officer for AMN Healthcare. Throughout her tenure with AMN, Dr. Faller has championed the development of consistent quality standards for credentialing and competency evaluation of healthcare professionals, setting AMN apart in the industry and giving it a name synonymous with quality healthcare professionals.
As a result of her efforts, the AMN rigorous screening and quality control processes meet and often exceed Joint Commission and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards. Since joining AMN in 1989, as Vice President of Nursing, Dr. Faller has taken on roles of increasing responsibility and, throughout her tenure; she has led sales teams, implemented de novo service lines, and provided leadership for both information technology and human resources. Currently Dr. Faller leads a team of approximately 200 staff in credentialing, education and clinical service areas under a Shared Services model. Active in the healthcare industry, Dr. Faller holds Board positions with the Alliance for Ethical International Recruitment Practices and the) Community Health Improvement Partners. She is also on the Joint Commission advisory council for the Healthcare Staffing Services Certification program. Dr. Faller earned a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Arizona, a master of science in nursing and doctorate in nursing from the University of San Diego, and is currently on faculty in the school of nursing at University of San Diego where she teaches business courses to nurses in both the masters and doctoral programs.
Ms. Jackson joined us as General Counsel and Vice President of Administration in October 2000.
Ms. Jackson is responsible for our legal, corporate governance, long-term incentive and equity compensation strategies, risk management, corporate audit services and government affairs functions. We appointed her as our Secretary in May 2003 and Senior Vice President in November 2004. From 1995 to September 2000, Ms. Jackson worked for The Mills Corporation serving as Vice President and Senior Counsel from 1998 to 2000. She holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona, a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from the University of Arizona. Ms. Jackson is licensed as an attorney in California, the District of Columbia, Arizona and New York. Ms. Jackson serves on the Boards of Pipeline Health Holdings, LLC, Girls on the Run International, the Association of Corporate Counsel San Diego and the Lux Art Institute.
Mr. Henderson joined us as President, Nurse Staffing in September 2007. In February 2009, we appointed him President, Nurse and Allied Staffing and in February 2012, named him President, Healthcare Staffing as he assumed executive leadership for all of our temporary staffing divisions.
Mr. Henderson is responsible for leading the sales and financial performance of our nurse and allied healthcare staffing segment and our locum tenens staffing segment. Prior to September 2007, Mr. Henderson served as Senior Vice President, Group Executive for Spherion, Inc., one of the largest commercial and professional staffing companies in the United States. Mr. Henderson started with Spherion in 1995 and held several leadership positions, including Regional Vice President and General Manager, Vice President of National Accounts, and Senior Vice President, Western Division. Prior to Spherion, Mr. Henderson was employed by American Express for nine years where in his last role he served as Vice President of Sales and Account Management in the Travel Management Services Division. Mr. Henderson serves on the Board of Managers of Pipeline Health Holdings, LLC. Mr. Henderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University.
Dan White brings more than 25 years of professional experience in recruitment, product marketing and management, software development, executive leadership and venture capital.
As President of Strategic Workforce Solutions, he is responsible for business development for the suite of AMN Healthcare workforce solutions, including the industry-leading Managed Services Programs (MSP), Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), Strategic Accounts and Client Marketing teams.
As an industry pioneer and veteran, he is responsible for leading AMN top-ranked Managed Services Provider (MSP) and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) businesses, while reshaping the way AMN delivers its workforce solutions to its diverse client base. Mr. White possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and has a proven track record in building innovative products to solve gaps in the marketplace and in implementing large scale RPO programs at companies including Convergys Corporation and IBM. He founded SkillSet Software in 1993 and has continued to build his career through sales and operational leadership roles across the industry. Mr. White is also a recognized industry spokesman, speaking regularly on the topic of workforce lifecycle management, recruitment best practices, human resources systems design and talent optimization, among other related topics. He received a BBA in Accounting from the University of San Diego in 1985.
Bruce Carothers supports AMN in maximizing the value of technology-enabled client solutions, such as vendor management systems (VMS), which are a key differentiator for AMN in the market.
. AMN has two complementary VMS offerings, ShiftWise and Medefis, report directly to Bruce Carothers. He also has been a key leader in mergers and acquisitions for AMN and in integration of new AMN businesses. Prior to his position as SVP, Mr. Carothers was VP for Partner Development and Telehealth Solutions at AMN, and before that he served as leader of the company’s internal IT department. He joined AMN Healthcare in 2001. Before AMN, Mr. Carothers was Chief Technology Officer at Alitum, provider of back officer solutions; Founder and CEO of RightAngle Systems; and Chief Technology Officer of Logicon 4GT.
Landry Seedig serves as Division President of Travel Nursing, where he is responsible for leading sales and financial performance.
Demonstrating a proven ability to drive and manage large-scale business initiatives, as well as offering extensive experience in operations management, marketing, integrations and business development, Mr. Seedig has been in the healthcare staffing sector since 2001, and had worked in the IT staffing sector prior to that time. Mr. Seedig is passionate for helping team members achieve professional development goals, and takes an active role in AMN committees such as mentoring, traveler benefits and government compliance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Texas A&M University.
Sean Ebner is President of the AMN Healthcare Locum Tenens division and is responsible for the leadership of several brands including: Staff Care and Locum Leaders. A seasoned executive with more than 20 years of professional services experience, Sean joined AMN in 2012. Prior to joining the AMN Healthcare family of companies, Mr. Ebner was a key senior executive of Technisource, one of the largest IT services providers in North America. Mr. Ebner oversaw the regional branch organization, the strategic account portfolio, and the national strategic sales organization. Mr. Ebner holds an Undergraduate Degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
Jeff Decker serves as Division President for our Allied Staffing division. Jeff is responsible for the overall leadership of the AMN Healthcare Allied Sales teams and recruitment brands Med Travelers and Club Staffing and will continue with his leadership of RxPro Health and RxCareer Center Pharmacy brands. Jeff has been a part of the organization for 13 years.
Mr. Decker brings to AMN Healthcare a successful background in recruitment, operations management, marketing and brand development. Prior to joining the company, he was the President of Resources On Call for eight years, building the company from a regional resource to a national market segment leader. He has more than 20 years of experience with the healthcare industry, beginning with the branding of Humana while with McCann Erickson, the world’s largest and most globally experienced advertising network. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Mark Smith serves as President of Physician Permanent Placement at AMN Healthcare Services Inc. and President of Merritt Hawkins.
Mr. Smith has been with Merritt Hawkins for more than 26 years and served as Director of its eastern regional office in Atlanta, Georgia, prior to relocating to the corporate office outside Dallas. Mr. Smith is responsible for strategic planning and operations for Merritt Hawkins, providing both overall strategic direction and daily management of recruiting, personnel and related functions. He is one of the nation's leading experts in the areas of medical staff planning and physician staffing and has advised hundreds of hospitals, medical groups and other health care organizations on issues ranging from physician needs assessments to physician search strategies, compensation formulas, and retention strategies.
Becky Kahn is Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts for AMN Healthcare. She joined AMN in 2002 and has 30 years of progressive experience within the healthcare industry, specializing in staffing, client sales and account management. Ms. Kahn is responsible for the implementation and account management of all of AMN Managed Services accounts under our nursing, allied and locums staffing divisions.
In her tenure with AMN, Ms. Kahn has served in several roles including oversight of the AMN local staffing division, Senior Vice President of Client Sales and Services, where she was responsible for sales and account management for our travel nursing division. She also has been Vice President of Managed Services, National Accounts, Client Contracts and Client Operations. Prior to joining AMN, Ms. Kahn worked as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AZHHA). She holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Management from the University of Phoenix.
Dawn Anderson joined AMN Healthcare Services, Inc., as Vice President, Client/Corporate Marketing in 2014 to develop and execute marketing and communications strategies that drive brand awareness, thought leadership, new business opportunities and lead generation.
Prior to AMN, Ms. Anderson was Senior Vice President and Industry Marketing Leader for CareCredit, a GE Capital company that provides healthcare consumer financing. Previously, she was Vice President for MedImpact Healthcare Systems, the largest independent Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM). She also spent many years at PacifiCare Health Systems/Secure Horizons (now United Healthcare), where she was the Director of Product Development for Women’s Health Solutions, Engagement Director and Manager of Internet Business. She also worked in marketing and business development at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, FHP and Tenet Hospitals. Ms. Anderson’s experience includes strategic affiliations and technology partnerships that span the marketing continuum. She also served on the Board of Directors for a California-based hospice company. She holds a Master in Business Administration and is certified in social media and new product development.
Brian McCloskey is the Senior Vice President of Candidate Sourcing & Digital Marketing for AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. He is responsible for leading the strategic development and management of sourcing initiatives across all of the AMN businesses.
Prior to joining AMN in 2013, Brian spent over 17 years with Fortune 500 companies leading various B2B and B2C marketing disciplines. Most recently, he spent 6 years with Eastman Kodak as the Worldwide Director of Customer Relationship Management, where he created a successful global CRM Center of Excellence. Before joining Kodak, Brian had an 11 year career with the Hewlett-Packard Company. He held several commercial and consumer marketing positions in HP’s Professional Services and Imaging and Printing organizations. He was instrumental in building Hpshopping.com, HP’s consumer-direct e-commerce site, where he was responsible for Business Intelligence and Customer Relationship Management. Prior to joining HP, Brian spent 5 years in the banking industry working in structured finance for Bank of America and ING. Brian holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
