AMN Healthcare is proud to be part of the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), which distinguishes companies committed to transparency in gender reporting and advancing women's equality. Bloomberg's standardized reporting framework offers public companies the opportunity to disclose information on how they promote gender equality across four separate areas – company statistics, policies, community engagement and products and services. This framework is the only international standardized reporting and disclosure method for workplace gender data.
The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion project is the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace. Bringing together some of the world’s leading companies and business organizations, its goal is to leverage individual and collective voices to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Susan Salka, Chief Executive Officer of AMN Healthcare, has joined over 450 other companies in signing the project’s CEO Pledge. The pledge states: 1) We will continue to make our workplaces trusting places to have complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity and inclusion; 2) We will implement and expand unconscious bias education; 3) We will share best and unsuccessful practices. AMN Healthcare has been striving for gender equality for decades, and more recently has been working harder on other areas of inclusion. In the spirit of transparency, here are the AMN numbers as of January 2019:
Our commitment to diversity also extends to our vendors, contractors, and suppliers. We work to facilitate business partnerships with diverse contractors and suppliers, and partner with national diversity supplier councils including the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). A key focus moving forward is on identifying business opportunities beyond the traditional minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses to inclusion of LGBT-owned and disability-owned businesses.
