ECU Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatric’ s, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry. The Emergency Department is a 67 bed unit and includes a state of the art 3 bay trauma resuscitation area. They provide care for primarily adults patients with a variety of emergency conditions. It is part of a Level 1 Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. They have on average 77,000 visits per year. The candidate will deliver direct, quality patient care, utilizing a basic clinical skill level and knowledge base. Will provide proficient, age specific, professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with legal, hospital practice and departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, and as defined by the state of North Carolina.

The RN is responsible and accountable for providing and coordinating patient care. The RN identifies and addresses patient’s needs and priorities through assessment, planning and collaboration with other health care providers. The RN will execute physician orders and supervise the implementation of nursing interventions.
