Joint Commission Certification Recognizes High-Quality Standards
AMN Healthcare is one of a small subset of staffing firms that have been certified by the Joint Commission for its ability to provide qualified and competent staffing services to its clients. AMN Healthcare first received the Gold Seal of Approval™ for Staffing Companies from the Joint Commission (formerly referred to as JCAHO) in June 2005 and has been recertified through 2010. AMN Healthcare is Health Care Staffing Services certified for the following nurse staffing divisions:
- American Mobile
- Medical Express
- NursesRx
- Preferred Healthcare Staffing
- Nurse Choice
The nursing division O’Grady Peyton International was certified in April 2007, by the Joint Commission.
New this year is the certification for allied division MedTravelers.
Platinum Select also has Joint Commission certification. Platinum Select joined AMN in February 2008
With this recognition, AMN Healthcare became the first U.S. temporary staffing company to be certified under a corporate review, which provides for a broad certification at multiple company branch offices. This certification acknowledged AMN Healthcare's compliance with The Joint Commission's national set of consensus-based quality standards.
Health care staffing firms, like AMN Healthcare, are eligible for Joint Commission certification if they:
- Place clinical staff in other organizations that oversee or provide direct patient care.
- Place clinical staff under the direct supervision of another organization’s personnel.
- Have at least a four month track record of being in business and meeting the standards.
- Have placed at least 10 clinical staff during that four month time period.
This provides our clients with the added assurance that AMN Healthcare is committed to maintaining nationally-recognized industry standards for compliance, quality and excellence in our service delivery options.
Re-certification reviews are unannounced and are conducted on-site every other year. The review evaluates performance, continuing education and training, placement criteria and other areas. The Joint Commission’s Health Care Staffing Services (HCSS) Certification Program provides an independent, comprehensive evaluation of a staffing firm’s ability to provide qualified and competent staffing services.
