The Army Reserve: 100 Years in the Medical Community

In 1908, Congress decided to create a branch of the military to aid in the medical needs of the army. They created the Medical Reserve Corps from a group of 160 physicians who would only serve the military when needed, but were willing to leave at a moment's notice to care for soldiers on the battlefield. Today, under the name of the Army Reserve, this group has expanded to include civilians from every trade who assist the military in times of trouble.
